Overtime
By installing the plugin “overtime_reports,” the system will add the following properties to time entries
- Regular working time
- Overtime
- Double Overtime
- Regular worked time (billing)
- Overtime (billing)
- Double Overtime (billing)
These properties will be auto-populated once a time entry is saved or edited, following the rules described in the sections below.
Also, two new reports will be available:
- New Payroll Report
- New Billing Report by client/project
Overtime for Payroll
Configuration
Go to Settings → General Configuration → Overtime calculations for payroll
In this section, you can define how the worked time for payroll will be calculated:
- The first option is to enable or disable the overtime calculations
- Regular work hours: The maximum number of hours to be computed as regular per day.
- Overtime work hours: The maximum number of hours to be computed as overtime per day; if there are more, they will be computed as double overtime.
- Regular work hours per week: Maximum number of hours to be computed as overtime per week; if there are more, they will be computed as overtime or double overtime.
- Overtime multiplier: This number is used to calculate overtime hour value by multiplying it with the regular hour value; it is used to calculate the total cost.
- Double overtime multiplier: This number is used to calculate the double overtime hour value by multiplying it by the regular hour value. It is used to calculate the total cost.
- Calculate overtime for time entries after: The overtime calculations will be done only for time entries with a date after the date configured in this option.
The properties that will be auto-populated are:
- Regular worked time
- Overtime
- Double Overtime
Important: These calculations only apply to time entries of users who have enabled the option “Applies for overtime” in the user properties.
Time list
After configuring the rules, when adding or editing a time entry, you'll see the calculations in the list:
Overtime for Billing
Configuration
Go to Settings → General Configuration → Overtime calculations for payroll
It is almost the same as the overtime for billing, giving you the possibility to define different rules for billing purposes.
Most of the properties of this section are equal to the ones in the payroll section, with one difference: You can define if you want to calculate the overtime by client or by project with the option Overtime for billing calculated by
Important: These calculations only apply to time entries of users who have enabled the option “Applies for overtime” in the user properties and for clients/project that don't have set the property “Disable overtime calculation for billing”
